ABP Food Group Appoints Chris Martin To Board

ABP Food Group has announced the appointment of Chris Martin as a non-executive director to its Board.

Martin has over thirty five years’ experience of working in retail and consumer facing businesses in Britain and Ireland.

In 2019, after fifteen years, he stepped down as CEO of Musgrave, best known for operating the Supervalu, Centra and Musgrave marketplace brands in Ireland.

Wealth Of Experience 

Previously Martin served as CEO of Mothercare plc, group finance director of Storehouse plc and had various roles at PizzaHut and ASDA, throughout his career.

Martin is a chartered accountant, fellow of the Institute of Grocers and a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Commenting on the announcement Larry Goodman of ABP Food Group said: “I am delighted to welcome Chris Martin to the Board of ABP Food Group."

"His experiences from a long career at the leading end of retail, and most particularly food retail, will be of considerable value with the ongoing strategic development of the business," he added. 

Recent Board Changes 

On the 28 February this year, ABP Food Group announced a number of changes to its Board.

Firstly, the meat processor appointed two further directors to its Board, Finbarr McDonnell and Mark Goodman, who are both currently executives in the group.

The privately owned company also announced the appointment of three new non-executive directors, John Moloney, Tom Kirwan and Fergal O’Dwyer to its Board.
