Brady Family has announced that it has partnered with Irish businesses to develop new product range as part of a €1 million investment in the brand by O’Brien Fine Foods.
The group announced that it has introduced three new ham flavours inspired by the ‘unique tastes of Ireland’.
An "Unlikely" Irish Take
Twice Turf Smoked, Black Pudding Spiced and Whiskey Marmalade Glazed have all been developed through partnerships with food producers from across the country, including New Ross-based Wexford Preserves and West Cork’s Spice O’Life.
“We are excited to be working with our partners to develop new and innovative products for the sliced cooked meat market,” said John O’Brien, Managing Director of O’Brien Fine Foods.
“Our new flavours are a celebration of the unique ingredients, recipes and tastes of this island. We know our customers want new food experiences that mesh with their desire for produce that is not only fresh and crafted with care but made in Ireland.”
“We are delighted to partner with Brady Family in this innovative and uniquely Irish take on sliced cooked ham,” added Laura Sinnott, owner at Wexford Home Preserves
“We hope that customers enjoy the fabulous fusion of our handmade Irish Whiskey Marmalade with the authentic Irish taste of Brady Family Ham. We source the best quality ingredients as locally as possible and take our recipe inspiration from time-tested tradition."
Local Champions
O’Brien Fine Foods said it is putting local produce to the fore after research conducted by the group found that 71% of consumers say that buying Irish produce is important.
It also found that half of consumers would not knowingly buy meat that has travelled more than between 601 and 1,000 miles, while more than 80% would not knowingly buy meat that has travelled between 1,001 and 2,000 miles.
“Brady Family specialises in cooked meat products that are 100% Irish,” said O’Brien.
“Our pork is sourced from Irish farms and prepared in our site at Timahoe, Co.Kildare. When a customer purchases a Brady Family product, they can rest assured that what they’re eating was reared on Irish soil.”
The Brady Family is currently based in Co. Kildare, employing roughly 500 people. The company produces cooked meats for both Irish and international markets.
