Close to 250 top executives from across the FMCG and grocery retail sectors were in attendance at the 2015 Checkout National FMCG Awards, which took place at the InterContinental Hotel, Dublin, last Friday (9 October).
The event, now in its sixth year, paid tribute to the leading brand innovations and marketing campaigns of the past year, with some of the biggest names in the sector being honoured.
Among the biggest winners were Glanbia Consumer Foods, which took the prize for Branded Supplier of the Year (Food and Beverage), sponsored by Gala; Kimberly-Clark, which was named Branded Supplier of the Year (Non-Food); and Heineken Ireland, which won the Branded Supplier of the Year (Alcohol) award.
The annual Checkout Brand Legacy Award, sponsored by dunnhumby, was presented to Batchelors, part of the Valeo Foods stable, which celebrates its 80th birthday this year.
Elsewhere, there were wins for SuperValu's ‘Food Academy’ initiative [Best Integrated Campaign, sponsored by InteractSMS], Aldi's ‘100% Irish Meat’ campaign [Best Advertising Campaign (Broadcast/TV/Radio)], the Tayto ‘More Than Just A Crisp’ campaign [Best Advertising Campaign (Online/Digital)] and Coca-Cola's 'I've Kissed…' outdoor campaign [Best Advertising Campaign (Outdoor), sponsored by Clear Channel].
This year, a total of six awards were also presented to commemorate brand performance in the Checkout Top 100 Brands report, produced in association with Nielsen.
