Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland has completed its acquisition of Irish company BDS Vending Solutions Ltd.
BDS Vending – which was founded in 1993 – is a well-established food and drink vending services business in Ireland, with a fleet of approximately 2,000 vending machines.
This transaction is part of Coca-Cola HBC’s strategy to enhance its route-to-market and direct-to-consumer capabilities and will provide new opportunities across its well-rounded snacks, cold and hot beverage portfolio.
The proposed transaction was approved by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in the Republic of Ireland on 12 February 2025.
As a result of this approval, the acquisition officially closed on Friday 28 February.
Speaking about the news, the general manager of Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland Simon Fitzpatrick said, “BDS Vending, together with Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland has the potential to transform the vending industry on the island of Ireland.
“This acquisition will see our business bring agile ways of operating to the market and harness innovative technology, while also building capabilities in our route-to-market.
“In turn, we will offer our customers greater choice through our 24/7 portfolio and further enhance our consumer experience.
“We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to the Coca-Cola HBC Group.”
