The Coca-Cola HBC Foróige 5k takes place on 24 May at the National Sports Campus to raise vital funds for young people in Dublin 15.
Youth development organisation Foróige, who also manage and provide youth projects and services, is coordinating the run and partnering with Coca-Cola HBC, which employs 300 people at their premises in Ballycoolin.
The National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown is hosting the event, giving participants the change to view some of it’s excellent sporting facilities.
Bernie Moloney of Foróige commented, “We are extremely grateful that Coca-Cola HBC Ireland have come on board to sponsor our 5k event along with the National Sports Campus who have kindly provided us with their top of the range facility in Blanchardstown to host the event.
“All funds raised will go towards the much-needed provision of educational and pro-social programmes and activities for young people aged 10-18 years old from Dublin 15.”
The day’s events kick off at 11am, followed by the 5k run at midday, which will be chip timed by Precision Timing. Registration is €20 and can be done through Precision Timing’s website or on the day while further information is on Run Ireland’s website.
Cash prizes will be awarded to first and second place male and female runners while third place participants will receive gift vouchers. Everyone taking part will also go home with a gift bag.
As well as the 5k run, there will be entertainment and a short run for young people down the “Yellow Brick Road”, followed by fun activities such as penalty shoot outs and face painting.
