Coca-Cola’s award winning road-safety campaign will go live in over 1,000 participating pubs and restaurants across Ireland from 25th November 2016.
It’s 12th annual Designated Driver campaign will be fronted by Ireland and Ulster rugby player Tommy Bowe. The aim of the campaign is to promote safe driving practices and reward designated drivers during the festive season.
During the campaign, Designated drivers can claim up to two free drink vouchers from the Coca-Cola range such as Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Fanta, Sprite, Deep RiverRock and Fruice if they visit DesignatedDriver.ie. The voucher entitles drivers to two free soft drinks when presented at the counter.
Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross said, “I’m delighted to endorse the Coca-Cola Designated Driver campaign this year, which supports our aim of keeping roads safe over the Christmas period. The campaign serves to remind the nation that it is important to take precautions getting to and from festivities, whether by appointing a designated driver or making other arrangements.
“I would like to thank Coca-Cola for their contribution; celebrating and supporting those designated drivers who play a selfless role in keeping roads safe at Christmas time and around the year.”
As part of the campaign Coca-Cola representatives will tour the country with Tommy Bowe and comedian Andrew Stanley to chat to consumers about their favourite Christmas traditions for a chance to win prizes such as a supply of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.
Andrew Stanley, campaign ambassador, added, “This is a really important campaign that promotes safe driving practices, while rewarding Designated Drivers over Christmas, including myself. I am really looking forward to travelling the length and breadth of the country in November and December to hear some warm and funny Christmas traditions from consumers and licensed trade outlets.”
