Heinz is marking the nationwide launch of its new paperboard Eco-Friendly Sleeve Multipack with the help of four artists who have each created limited edition designs for the packaging. “Our new Eco-Friendly Sleeve uses no glue, the paperboard is fully recyclable and comes from sustainably managed forests. Best of all, rolling it out will result in the removal of 30 tonnes of plastic from Ireland’s supermarket shelves every year," commented Elaine McCague, senior commercial & marketing manager, Heinz Ireland.
Did you know...? Packaging group Mondi has announced that it is investing €20 million to improve the sustainability of pulp production at the Frantschach mill in Austria. The mill, which is celebrating its 140th anniversary in 2021, has already been self-sufficient in terms of energy for many years and supplies surrounding communities and industrial companies with surplus heat from the pulp production process, the company noted, Mondi added.
Did you know...? Lidl Portugal is investing €100 million to expand its operations to the autonomous region of Madeira. Within two years, the German discounter is planning to open its first three stores on the island, creating 150 jobs. The entry into Madeira takes place over a quarter of century since Lidl started operations in mainland Portugal. In a statement sent to media, Lidl Portugal stressed that, in line with the aim of 'boosting the local economy,' the company will focus on establishing partnerships with local suppliers apart from creating new jobs.
