Did you know ...? French supermarket retailer Casino noted that it aims to conclude a debt-restructuring agreement with its creditors by the end of next month, telling them that it needed an equity contribution of ‘at least €900 million’, reports Reuters. Casino and the holders of its €6.4 billion worth of debt kicked off formal talks earlier this month, as the group races to stay afloat through divestments and an agreement to defer taxes and social charges with the government.
Did you know ...? FrieslandCampina has announced that Trienke Elshof-Witteveen has been appointed as a member of its cooperative board, effective as of 12 December 2023, reports ESMmagazine.com. The Dutch cooperative noted that Elshof-Witteveen will replace Hans Stöcker, whose final term in the role ends this year. In addition, Elze Jellema has been reappointed to the cooperative board as per the same date, the group noted.
Did you know ...? The soft-drink category saw the highest absolute-value growth in the UK, compared to any other product segment in 2022, and it is now worth £2.8 billion (€3.2 billion) to the convenience channel, according to the latest data from Britvic’s Soft Drinks Review 2023. Energy drinks accounted for 28%, or £96.9 million (€111.6 million), of the total category’s growth of £347.4 million (€400.3 million).
