Java Republic has announced that throughout the remainder of May, it will donate €1 from every box of tea sold online to Pieta.
The family-owned company said that it launched the 'ReLeaf' campaign as the current COVID-19 crisis has forced many charities re-strategise, and change the ways in which they operate and fundraise.
'In light of this, Pieta have had to cancel their largest annual fundraising campaign, Darkness into Light, and instead are appealing to others to help them spread their messages of solidarity and raise awareness of the work they do,' the tea and coffee supplier explained.
“We have always been huge advocates for the tremendous work Pieta does within our society," Grace O’Shaughnessy, managing director of Java Republic said.
"Now more than ever we need to be mindful of our own mental health and get help and support if needed. We’re privileged to be in a position to support Pieta."
Since its establishment in 2006, Pieta has provided counselling to over 44,000 people, with almost 8,000 people coming through their doors in 2019. More than 80% of Pieta’s funds come from the public.
