Fyffess is setting up a takeaway pop up 'Fyffes Kitchen' with the support of Just-Eat on 'National Banana Day' to raise funds for Temple Street Hospital, according to a statement issued by the fruit importers today (12 April.).
Dublin Customers can order from a special three-course menu comprised of banana-infused dishes created by food-innovation chef Kevin Powell from the 'Fyffes Kitchen' via Just-Eat, from 4.30pm to 9.30pm, on 19 April. All the proceeds will go directly to the Children's hospital.
According to Emma Hunt-Duffy, Fyffes marketing manager, “Through National Banana Day, our aim is to support the very important work being done by Temple Street Children’s Hospital whilst highlighting what a versatile, healthy and enjoyable fruit the banana is”.
Dishes will include spiced banana chip and herb salad with pineapple-chili dressing starter; apple, banana and tomato butter chicken with jasmine rice or banana cashew and pineapple curry main course; banana and bacon shake to drink and a dessert option that includes the novelty banana cream chocolate doughnuts – amongst others.
