Lidl Ireland has extended its vegan offering to include a wide range of plant-based products under its own label, Vemondo.
The new range will include plant-based pizzas, burgers, falafels, and other tasty everyday treats for vegans and those looking to make a change to their diet in the new year, the discounter noted.
Lidl’s Vemondo range will be available across all 172 Lidl stores nationwide from January.
Wide Variety
With more than half (59%) of Irish vegans feeling that product affordability is a challenge for their dietary lifestyle, Lidl noted that it has ‘come to the aid of vegans across the country with its wide variety of inexpensive, high-quality plant-based foods.’
Made with fresh, nutritious ingredients, each carefully selected product will pack natural goodness into your diet and guarantee a seriously great taste, the discounter noted.
The product range includes Vegan Meatballs (€2.49),Vegan Pizza (€1.99), Vegan Chicken and Beef Burgers (€2.49), Vegan Falafels (€2.29), Vegan Pea Nuggets and Vegan Spinach Nuggets (€2.29), Vegan Pizza Bases (€2.99), Vegan Pizza Topping (€1.99) and Vegan Cheese Slices (€1.99).
Current Vegan Range
In addition to these new products, Irish supplier Loughnane’s vegan Plant to Plate burgers will also be taken in under the Vemondo brand umbrella, the retailer noted.
Made in Co. Offaly, Lidl’s vegan burgers are produced by Loughnane’s, which is one of the discounter’s 400+ Irish suppliers.
Established in 1975, Loughnane’s has been working closely with Lidl Ireland for more than 12 years, which has allowed its business to ‘grow, diversify and introduce extended product ranges for Lidl’s Irish customers.’
Lidl Ireland already offers an extensive vegan range, which includes brands such as Quorn, Gosh!, Strong Roots and Alpro.
