MiWadi And CHF Launch 'Trick Or Treat For Sick Children' Campaign

Children’s Health Foundation (CHF) and MiWadi have teamed up this year to launch the ‘Trick or Treat for Sick Children’ campaign.

Now in its 12th year of partnership with MiWadi, CHF calls on individuals, families, schools and community groups to sign up for a free party pack and help raise vital funds for a worthy cause.

By signing up for a free party pack, participants can embrace their inner monster and host a Trick or Treat for Sick Children Halloween party, thus raising funds and awareness for CHF.

Whether it’s a small gathering at home or a larger event at a school or community centre, hosting a Trick or Treat for Sick Children Halloween party can raise vital funds for CHF.

This year, the campaign highlights the incredible courage of young patients like four-year-old Méabh from Limerick who spent 30 weeks receiving treatment for a brain tumour in Children’s Health Ireland at Temple Street.

Méabh’s bravery, combined with the exceptional care she received, demonstrates the crucial importance of fundraising efforts such as this.

Daytime Disco

In support of children like Méabh, MiWadi and CHF are hosting a one-off ‘Daytime Disco’ – a monster-themed, fun-filled event for children of all ages at the Bernard Shaw in Phibsborough.

TikTok superstar DJ Calum, aged 14, will be the show’s star, spinning tracks for guests together with his hype-man brother Jackson and Trick or Treat ambassador Alison Curtis.

During the disco, children can participate in activities such as glow stick crafts and face painting.

Tickets for the Monster DJ Daytime Disco are €5.50 for kids and €11 per adult, available now on Eventbrite.

'Truly Making A Difference'

Fionnuala O’Leary, chief executive of CHF said of the initiative, “We are very grateful to all our Trick or Treaters nationwide who support this fantastic campaign each year.

“The involvement of so many schools, crèches, families, communities and workplaces across Ireland demonstrates just how much people care about sick and injured children in our country.

“Thank you all – you are truly making a difference in the lives of the hundreds of thousands of children.

“We are also immensely grateful to MiWadi for their continued incredible support each year.”

Caroline Hyde, marketing manager at MiWadi, Britvic Ireland added, “Our Trick or Treat partnership has grown stronger every year, and we are excited to introduce the Monster DJ Daytime Disco in 2024.

“This campaign is about fun, creativity, and community spirit, and we encourage everyone to join in and host their own Halloween party to support this important cause.”

Trick or Treat ambassador Curtis said, “This will be my third year supporting Trick or Treat for Sick Children, and I can’t think of a greater cause.

“This year’s DJ-themed even is close to my heart, and I can’t wait to see the children enjoying the party with DJ Calum.

“Hopefully I’ll have time to spin a tune or two myself.”

Curtis concluded, “Please, I urge you – if you’ve never supported this incredible campaign before, let this be the first of many.”
