Nescafé has introduced to the Irish market its first paper refill pack for Nescafé Gold Blend, which can be easily recycled at home.
The innovative paper refill pack reduces the weight of the packaging by an incredible 97%, compared to the traditional 200g glass coffee jars.
The decreased packaging weight will further impact transport, making it easier and more environmentally efficient to move the stock.
Designed with convenience in mind, the contents of the paper packet can be used to refill the glass jar.
This, in turn, gives the jar a longer life while maintaining the same taste and quality for which Nescafé Gold Blend is known.
Once the refill pack is empty, it can be put in the recycling bin and disposed of via kerbside collection.
‘Positive Change’
Speaking about the new packaging, the Nescafé marketing manager at Nestlé Ireland, Carol Anne Deasy, said, “We are thrilled to introduce Nescafé’s first paper refill pack, representing a positive step towards our sustainability goals.
“Nescafé is dedicated to driving positive change and offering more sustainable choices whilst offering the same great coffee and the iconic rich aroma that people love.”
The new 150g paper refill packs will be available in Tesco stores across Ireland this month.
The launch builds on the brand’s earlier success with the introduction of recyclable refill pouches in 2022.
This move demonstrates Nescafé’s ongoing commitment to sustainable packaging and Nestlé’s goal of reducing its use of virgin plastic by one third by 2025.
In addition to improving the sustainability of its packaging, Nescafé is striving to make coffee farming more sustainable.
All the coffee used in Nescafé products made in Ireland is 100% responsibly sourced, ensuring that every cup can make a difference.
