Following on from a hugely successful launch in the UK market in Q4 2020 with Sainsbury’s the Oakpark Naturally Smoked and Unsmoked Chicken Rasher 150G range is now available in all Aldi, Dunnes and Lidl stores across Ireland from January 2021.
The Oakpark chicken rashers, which are low in fat and high in protein, were developed as demand for healthier food choices continues to rise.
According to Oakpark, it is reported that 72% of Irish shoppers are planning to make greater attempts to eat healthier foods as a result of COVID-19.
The Oakpark chicken rashers make an ideal addition to breakfast and lunch occasions, the company said.
“Our latest NPD will bring further value to the pre-pack bacon category as our chicken rasher range appeals to the health-conscious consumer and will develop incremental sales and margin for our retail partners," stated David Brett, managing director of Oakpark.
This extension to the Oakpark white meat bacon range follows the successful introduction of the Oakpark turkey rasher range in 2018.
“Our business has evolved from traditional bacon products to value added white meat SKU’s. In 2018 we invested in a dedicated white meat production facility in Clonmel Co. Tipperary which today is servicing retailers in Ireland, UK, and Holland with chicken and turkey product,” said Brett.
The Oakpark chicken rasher range includes a naturally smoked and unsmoked variant – with both packs containing 6 rashers (150G).
