Red Bull Dance Your Style will takes place at Pembroke Square in Dundrum Town Centre at 1pm on Saturday 30 September.The mixed one-on-one battle format of Red Bull Dance Your Style features street style dancers, and has already taken places cities from over thirty countries to date.According to Red Bull, each battle is an exchange of diverse styles, with audiences treated to hip-hop, popping, house, locking and other street dance styles.
DJs blast well-known tracks at random, challenging each dancer’s ability to perform and adapt their dance styles to the rhythm of the beat, it added.
A wide range of music genres will be played - funk to pop music, rap to garage, old-school classics to recent chart hits - at Red Bull Dance Your Style.
Unique Competition
The energy drink brand noted that what sets Red Bull Dance Your Style apart from other dance competitions is the role played by the crowd.
There is no panel of judges voting for the winner.
Instead, the winner of each battle is decided on a crowd vote, Red Bull explained.
Showmanship and expression of individuality are key here, it highlighted.
Ultimately, the dancer who wins the crowd, wins the battle.The prize for the winner is to represent Ireland at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in Frankfurt this coming November, when the world's best dancers will compete against each other in one-on-ones.
