Strong Roots, the Irish food brand, has revealed that it expects to double the number of stores its goods are sold in globally after its launch in the US.
As reported by the Irish Times, the group, which already has products listed in all the major UK grocery retailers, will launch in the US later this year.
It has already agreed to deals with three US chains to distribute goods to over 3,000 stores from May.
Expansion
Currently, the company has products available in approximately 4,000 stores globally, including stores in Singapore, Iceland, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Qatar.
Since its inception, Strong Roots has sold over eight million product packs. Last year it sold half of this total alone.
Sam Dennigan, the founder of the company, said that it is benefiting from the growing interest in healthy foods.
The group specialises in healthy frozen vegetable products such as kale-and-quinoa burgers, roasted beetroot wedges and sweet potato fries.
Dennigan will relocate to the US following the launch to oversee its operations there.
This year the group estimates that it will earn €20 million this year, growing to €100 million by the end of 2022.
