Tom Keogh of Keogh’s has been named Marketing.ie Marketer of the Year 2015 at a ceremony in Dublin, for his work in ‘re-igniting our nation’s love affair with the potato’.
The judging panel explained that his story stood out because of how he adopted an informed approach to marketing, with product innovation and quality at its core.
Keogh beat off stiff competition from Fiona Curtin, Head of Innovation at Heineken for the roll out of the new Orchard Thieves cider, and from Brian Keating, Group Brands Director for AIB for his work on the 'Backing Brave' campaign.
Commenting on the win, Keogh said, “It’s a real honour to be recognized as best in my field. I regard myself as a “Farm-eter” – a marketer who happens to be a farmer. Being the best is at the heart of the philosophy behind Keogh’s. It’s been a great journey so far and there’s much to do.
“But, ultimately the success of any enterprise is a collaborative one between my family and myself, our customers, staff, suppliers and everyone involved in the growing success of the business."
Managing Director of awards sponsor Alternatives Group, Charley Stoney, praised the Keogh story as "a compelling tale of drive, determination and dedication to achieving a dream.
"Marketing is a tough business and talent and skill are vital parts of what’s needed to succeed. These are the characteristics that help you to navigate through the pressured, highly competitive world in which Tom operates."
