It was announced today in Budget 2019 that VAT for electronic newspapers will be reduced from 23% to 9%.
However, VAT on printed newspapers will stay at 9%.
"This will assist national and regional newspapers to remain competitive and meet the challenges of the modern media landscape." Paschal Donohoe, TD, Minister for Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform, said in his budget delivery.
