Cobblestone Brands Gathers €5.8m In Funding In First Year

Irish drinks company Cobblestone Brands has brought in more than €5.8 million in funding to date, despite only trading for one year, The Sunday Times reported this week.

The company – founded by Barry Gallagher, Brian Fagan and Kevin Keenan – is the latest venture by the founders of Glendalough whiskey.

The trio sold the whiskey label to drinks brand Mark Anthony in a deal that valued the company at €20 million in 2019.

Fagan and Gallagher were also the entrepreneurs behind Five Lamps lager, which they sold to C&C Group in 2017.

Cobblestone Brands has released two products to date.

It released Four Corners American gin last summer and Star & Key rum earlier this year.

Cobblestone has gathered its impressive funding from a few celebrity investors, including former Irish rugby captain Brian O’Driscoll and his wife, actress Amy Huberman.

Other funding sources came from rugby icons and brothers Rob and Dave Kearney, the former finance boss of C&C Group, Kenny Neison, and tech investor Eoghan Quigley.

Laura Roddy of The Sunday Times reported that the company brought in €405,000 in turnover last year, having only traded for one year.
