European drinks group Quintessential Brands has bought First Ireland Spirits Company in a multimillion-euro investment. First Ireland Spirits brands include O’Mara’s Irish Country Cream, The Dubliner Irish Whiskey Liqueur and Feeney’s Irish Cream Liqueur.
The County Laois company produces over 700,000 cases of Irish cream for 35 markets worldwide including Russia, USA, Peru, Mexico, Nigeria and Germany for a range of private label clients including Supervalu, Dunnes Stores, Tesco, Asda, Walmart and Woolworths (Australia).
Co-founder Owen Brady said it was an “appropriate point in time for First Ireland Spirits to become part of a larger drinks group” in order to “grow sales” and “expand into other liqueur categories.”
The deal is part of Quintessential Brands’ growth and development plans as it seeks to broaden its portfolio of brands, which already includes Greenall's Original Gin, Bloom Gin, Berkeley Square London Dry Gin and Toussaint Coffee Rum liqueur.
