Newly-filed accounts for John Teeling's Great Northern Distillery have revealed that operating profits increased by 36% to €7.6 million during the year that ended on April 30, 2019.
Meanwhile, the company's revenues rose from €13.6 million to €19.2 million during the twelve month period, reports the Irish Independent.
Speaking with the Irish Independent, Teeling said that the Dundalk based distillery is making the equivalent of about 700,000 bottles of whiskey a week, with 50% to 60% of it being sold immediately.
Teeling also attributed the rise in revenue to a three-year-old whiskey, which was produced at the distillery and 'came of age' during 2018.
