Guinness Storehouse’s growth in Asian markets has been recognised with the visitor experience winning the award for Tourism Provider of the Year at the Asia Matters Business Awards 2019.
The award sets out to recognise world class Irish companies who have achieved success in Asia, making a unique contribution to Ireland.
China is now the 8th largest market for Guinness Storehouse and in 2018, Guinness Storehouse welcomed 82,000 visitors from across Asia, including 51,000 visitors from China, the group said.
Paul Carty, managing director of the Guinness Storehouse reflects on the hard work of his team; “I would like to acknowledge the hard work undertaken by our head of sales & business development, Fiona Herald, with our Asia business and in particular with our Chinese market."
"Fiona has been instrumental in growing this important source market for the Irish brand homes,” he added.
Shanghai Gate
Following on from this, Guinness also announced the opening of the Shanghai Gate on 19December, which is a continuation of the brand’s increasing investment in the Asian market.
As well as the Chinese tourists learning about the iconic brand at the home of Guinness in Dublin, for the first time Chinese locals will now have the opportunity to visit a new immersive Guinness brand experience in Shanghai.
