Heineken has retained its place as Ireland's biggest selling alcohol brand, according to the Top 50 Alcohol Brands report, produced in association with Nielsen.
The report, which is featured in the Top 100 Brands issue, finds Budweiser in second place, and vodka brand Smirnoff in third. Bulmers ranks fourth, while Guinness places fifth for the fifth year in a row.
The Top 50 Alcohol Brands list uses sales data from multiples, symbol groups and forecourts, as well as independents and specialist off-licences (Census EPOS and universe projection for full off-licence chains of more than ten stores).
The remainder of the top ten is comprised of Carlsberg (6th), Jameson (7th), Coors Light (8th), Santa Rita (9th) and Huzzar (10th).
The study also includes data on the Top 20 Wines, which this year is led by Santa Rita, the Top 20 LADs, which is led by Heineken, and the Top 20 Spirits, which is led by Smirnoff.
Nielsen data was also provided for the Top 10 Cigarettes brands, which is led by Silk Cut, while Amber Leaf is the biggest selling RYO in the country.
