Heineken To Follow Diageo In Raising Pint Prices

Heineken has announced that it will increase the price of its draught pints by around 6 cent across its products, Drinks Industry Ireland has reported.

Following a similar move by Diageo earlier this month, the drinks company will apply price hikes to its draught products in Ireland, including Heineken, Coors, Birra Moretti, Murphy’s, Foster’s and Beamish.

The 2.8% price increase across the product range will come into effect on Monday 24 February.

A spokesperson for Heineken said, “As a business, we continue to focus on opportunities to reduce costs.

“However, even with these efforts, our business continues to experience cost price increase that are required to sustain our support and investment in the on-trade market.

“As a result, there will be a planned price increase of 2.8% across our draught products, effective from 24 February 2025.”

This will be the fourth price increase in two years.

The price of Diageo’s range of draught products – including Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks and Hophouse 13 – also rose by 6 cent per pint on Monday 3 February.

The CEO of Vintners Federation of Ireland Pat Crotty said last month, “Publicans are being squeezed from every angle – rising energy costs, higher wages and government-imposed charges.

“This latest price increase from Diageo adds yet another layer of financial pressure on pubs already struggling to keep doors open.”
