The Irish Beer And Whiskey festival at the RDS will open its doors today, 13th of March at 5pm. The five day event will bring together 100 local craft beers, a range of Irish whiskeys, as well as artisan foods to promote Irish products.
Seamus O’Hara, festival co-founder and owner of Carlow Brewing Company commented, "For the past five years, we have witnessed this industry go from strength to strength - the craft beer market has exploded in Ireland, the whiskey renaissance is at the tip of a phenomenal growth curve, and as for Irish cider - we are only at the beginning of witnessing their journey.”
Festival entertainment will include performances by Irish musical talent and a rugby panel hosted by RTÉ's Dermot Rigley, joined by ex-rugby players Niall Woods and Shane Byrne, before the Six Nations match.
Visitors will have the change to try unique offerings like Single Pot Red Breast from Midleton Distillery, who are bringing along their Master Cooper, Ger Buckley. St Patrick’s Day themed green beer is also on the menu, for those looking for something festive.
The Irish Beer And Whiskey Festival will run from the 13th –17th of March inside Hall 1 of the RDS.
