Jameson Irish Whiskey has embedded Near Field Communication (NFC) technology in its bottle cap and by tapping the cap with their NFC-enabled smartphones, Jameson drinkers will be able to digitally connect and register for free entry and news on events.
"This process is really simple; join by tapping your NFC enabled smartphone on the Jameson bottle cap, then register and enjoy what comes your way,” said Fiona Curtin, global communications and planning director for Jameson.
The platform will see a range of events for users which will be updated on a monthly basis.
This will include gigs, competitions for 'money-can’t-buy' trips, complimentary distillery tours, drinks from across the Jameson family, 'one-of-a-kind' experiences, and platform-exclusive content that 'goes above and beyond'.
Free Access
To mark the launch of the first ‘Tap the Cap’ digital platform in Ireland, Jameson said that it is providing all users who register in March with a complimentary ticket to their flagship tour in either Jameson Distillery Bow St., Dublin or Jameson Distillery Midleton, Cork.
Additionally, on 9 April, Jameson will host The Scratch, Mango X MathMan, and Loah in Jameson Distillery Bow St., and Jameson Connects users will have exclusive access to the gig,
Through the launch phase, consumers can join the community via social media, and can register without tapping the cap.
