McGuigan Wines has launched its alcohol-free wine range, Zero, in Ireland.
The range comprises of five high-quality wines including a shiraz, chardonnay, sparkling, rosé, sauvignon blanc and has been launched in direct response to a rising global trend, which has seen the alcohol-free sector continue to rise in popularity, the Australian wine brand said.
The Zero sauvignon blanc, rosé and shiraz are available now in Tesco supermarkets in its dedicated ‘Zero zone’, and the chardonnay and rosé has been launched in Dunnes Ireland.
AVL’s chief operating officer for the UK and Europe, Julian Dyer said, “The Zero range has been an exciting addition to our portfolio of award-winning wines and we’re thrilled to bring this innovative wine range to Ireland."
“We launched this wine range to meet a clear and specific consumer demand and we’re thrilled to see the success the range has seen to date. Consumers appetite for the no alcohol category has continued to increase in popularity as opposed to ‘low’ or ‘de-alcoholised’ wine, and we’ve created a premium product in response to that," he said.
Unique Technology
The innovative wines have been in development using technology unique to the brand’s Buronga Hill winery in New South Wales.
The brand uses the latest spinning cone technology, working at low temperatures to gently remove alcohol after the fermentation process, ensuring the wines maintain their delicate fruit flavours, it added.
Created to maintain strong varietal characteristics, the McGuigan Zero range also contains no artificial sweeteners or additives.
The shiraz has a good length with sweet blackcurrants and a rounded finish, whereas the rosé is more aromatic and vibrant with strawberries and citrus notes.
The sauvignon blanc has stand-out flavours of passion fruit and lime with a long finish and the chardonnay has aromas of white peach combined with subtle notes of vanilla and oak.
“Our ambition is to make McGuigan Zero the most successful alcohol-free wine brand in the UK and Ireland, which we are confident we can achieve over the next year,” Dyer added.
The McGuigan Zero sauvignon blanc, rosé and shiraz is available now in Tesco supermarkets, and the chardonnay and rosé in Dunnes for an RRP of €6.
