Muldoon Irish Whiskey Earns Silver in International Wines and Spirits Competition

Muldoon Irish Whiskey Liqueur, made by Anchor Spirits Ireland Limited, took home its first major world award at the International Wines and Spirits Competition held in London on 27 July.

Already having won a gold medal from the Irish Whiskey Society and a Blas na hEireann accolade, Muldoon Irish Whiskey snatched up a silver medal in its category despite the tough competition.

Commenting on the victory, Managing Director of Spirits Ireland, Nichola Beresford stated "We’re absolutely thrilled with the award. The IWSC is recognised globally and to be judged against some of the world’s finest brands and win silver is a huge endorsement of Muldoon.

"It’s also a great help to our sales team as it’s nice to have yet another award to talk about in such a competitive market."

Muldoon Irish Whiskey, a premium spirit derived from Irish Whiskey and traditional Irish toffee and hazelnut flavours, has been attracting attention in Germany and other parts of Europe and is currently sold in all good independent off licenses, as well as a limited amount of SuperValu stores.

In addition to the victory at the International Wines and Spirits Competition, its co-founders, Timmy Ryan and Nichola Beresford revealed there has been a significant fresh investment from a private US investor and they are getting ready to move to a new distillery factory this autumn.

The investment and expansion will make open up ten new positions, both full time and part time, within the Waterford based company in the coming months.
