Dr. Clive Black, Head of Research, Shore Capital
Dr. Clive Black is the co-founder and has been the Head of Research at Shore Capital Group Limited since 2003.
Clive has been voted the number one food and retail analyst in Europe by the Thomson Reuters Analyst Awards, the gold standard in analyst performance.
After attending Coleraine Academical Institution and following his research thesis on ‘Corporate Strategy in the Animal Feed, Beef and Dairy Sectors in Northern Ireland’ (QUB), he joined the National Farmers’ Union (NFU) in Knightsbridge, becoming Head of Food Policy where he advised and coordinated the organisation’s first ever food policy.
Joanne Denney-Finch OBE, Chief Executive, IGD
Joanne Denney-Finch OBE works with chief executives, chairmen and presidents of some of the world’s largest food and grocery companies.
IGD is an education and training charity for the food and grocery industry that undertakes research for the benefit of the public. It has more than 1,000 corporate members, including their subsidiaries, spanning 117 countries, with offices in the UK, Singapore and North America.
Wijnand Jongen, Retail & Ecommerce Expert
Wijnand Jongen is a globally recognised author keynote speaker and futurist on topics in retail and e-commerce. He is co-founder and chairman of the Executive Committee of Ecommerce Europe and founder and CEO of the Dutch ecommerce association Thuiswinkel.org.
He is the author of the book “The End of Online Shopping”, which was published in the Netherlands in 2016 and in Belgium in 2017. The English edition of the book was published on October 9, 2017 at the new European edition of Shoptalk in Copenhagen.
Kevin McCarthy, Managing Director, Garvey Group
Kevin McCarthy is Managing Director of the Garvey Group, one of Ireland’s leading retail businesses. He joined Quinnsworth in 1982 as a retail trainee manager and worked there for eight years, which included roles as assistant manager in Killarney, Tralee, Ennis and Douglas and work as a store manager in Mallow and Tullamore.
He joined Thomas Garvey in 1990 as store manager in Castleisland, opened the new Garveys store in Tralee in 1992, and went on to become regional manager in 1996. He joined the board of directors in 1998 and became a shareholder in the business. He was appointed Managing Director in 2006.
Patrick Munden, Global Head of Retail & Marketing, Salmon
Patrick Munden is Salmon’s Global Head of Retail & Marketing. Salmon is the go-to name delivering powerful e-commerce experiences for leading brands, helping them transact more digitally.
His expertise is founded on over 12 years' experience in global e-commerce with companies such as eBay, where he was head of large merchant marketing Europe, and e-commerce consultancy Salmon, where he is in demand as one of the UK's go-to spokespeople on online peak trading.
Stephen Wynne-Jones, Editor, ESM
Stephen Wynne-Jones is the Editor of ESM - The European Supermarket Magazine, the magazine for the European grocery retail sector, covering private label, brands, supply chain, technology, packaging, industry services and more.
He is also Checkout’s former Editor in Chief, and under his direction, Checkout was named as winner of the 'Business to Business Magazine of the Year' category at the Magazines Ireland Awards category in 2014. It was a finalist in the same category in 2015, and in 2013.
David Ciancio, Senior Customer Strategist, dunnhumby
David brings 48 years of retailing experience as an operator, marketer, and strategist to dunnhumby’s partners. He created one of the first supermarket loyalty card programs in the US (for The Kroger Co., in 1996), and led an innovative loyalty approach that today engages more than 50 million US households.
His visionary, customer-led ideas and Customer 1st change leadership contributed to Kroger’s remarkable 53 consecutive quarters of positive identical sales growth, and brought David recognition by Advertising Age Magazine as one of the ‘Top 50 Marketers’ in America (2008).

Robbie Clarke, director of Empathy Research, will be presenting an exclusive piece of consumer research that will look at some of the key consumer trends currently affecting the FMCG industry, as well as those likely to emerge in coming years.

Loe Limpens, Managing Partner, Yellow Dress Retail
Loe founded Yellow Dress Retail, an agency specialising in retail communication, retail design and private label packaging design, in 2009. The agency has offices in Holland and India, and clients in Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Holland and India. Loe has been working for private label manufacturers, design agencies and major retailers for over 25 years and has become a leading expert in retail design and retail brand architecture.
He is co-author of ‘Private Label Uncovered,’ an overview of major retail brand developments, which was published in 2011, and its successor ‘Managing Private Labels,’ which was published in 2015. Loe is a jury member for several packaging design awards and a keynote speaker on trends, design and private labels.
He studied fashion design at the Academy of Applied Arts in Maastricht and Design Management in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. In 2001, Loe joined Albert Heijn (Ahold/Delhaize), first as design manager and later on as senior marketing manager, visual identity. During this period he supervised the restyling of more than 10,000 private label SKU’s.

Nick Johnson, Managing Director, Unilever Ireland
Nick Johnson joined Unilever in 2011 as Business Operations Director within its customer development arm in UK. He assumed the role of Category Management & Business Operations Director in July 2011. In October 2013, he took on the leadership of its Shopper Marketing arm, whilst retaining the category management function. He was then appointed Vice President and Country Leader for Unilever Ireland in June 2014.
Kevin Donnelly, Managing Director, Britvic Ireland
Kevin has over 25 years’ experience in sales, marketing and general management. He joined Britvic in September 2008 as Marketing Director and was appointed Managing Director in June 2013. He is a member of the Britvic PLC Executive Team in London. Prior to Britvic, he spent four years as Sales & Marketing Director of Dairygold Consumer Foods Division.
David Adams, Head of Sales, The Kraft Heinz Company
David Adams joined The Kraft Heinz Company Ireland in September 2017. As head of sales, he is the commercial lead for the Ireland business. David moved to Ireland from the UK where he joined Kraft Heinz in September 2014 as national account manager within the foodservice arm. He quickly progressed to the retail division, heading up the sales team for a top four UK multiple. After graduating from university with a BA (Hons) in Marketing, David worked for Philips UK in various sales and marketing roles. He also worked for Thornton’s in a commercial role, leading the convenience symbol channel.
