Bord Bia has announced October as its Month of Farmhouse Cheese, which will see a variety of events taking place across the country to let ‘foodies’ get to know Irish farmhouse cheeses.
Over the course of October Month of Farmhouse Cheese, consumers will get a chance to try new varieties, as well as discover new ways to enjoy them, while picking up top tips on everything from seasonality to recipes.
Retailers, as well as restaurants, pubs and hotels, will host cheese tastings offering a wide variety of styles and flavours made from cows’, goats’ and sheep’s milk.
Discover Farmhouse Cheese will also host a number of farm visits, giving the public the chance to see how cheese is produced. Visitors will get a chance to make some of their own cheese too.
