Electric Picnic Welcomes Food For Life! At Its Theatre Of Food

Food for Life! has been announced as this year’s theme for Electric Picnic’s 'Theatre of Food' area at the music and arts festival in Stradbally this September.

The dedicated food area will showcase all things gastronomic, from cookery demonstrations, to debates and sampling for the thousands of ‘Picnickers’ set to attend the festival from the September 4 to 6 in Stradbally Hall.

Food For Life! will feature demonstrations from both David and Stephen Flynn from The Happy Pear (pictured), and Domini and Peaches Kemp, with each family pairing bringing their recipes for a healthy, happier life.

The Flynn brothers, who were on hand to launch the Theatre of Food with some young foodie fans, said, “We're really looking forward to sharing our passion for super tasty wholefoods and tips on how to achieve a healthier and happier lifestyle.”

This year marks the fifth Theatre of Food and will also see contributions acclaimed chefs and food writers, including Kevin Thornton and Masterchef winner Diana Dodog. Meanwhile, ‘Theatre of Food Unplugged’ will teach skills such as making raw milk cheese and butter, fermenting, and gluten-free foods along with a taco workshop.

Guests can also look forward to Wagyu Beef from Pat Whelan; Ireland’s Food Treasures from TV chefs Catherine Fulvio and Martin Shanahan; and a vegan feast cooked up by Louise Clarke from Nude Food in Fungarvan.
