Dole plc. has marked International Women’s Day by announcing it has joined Global Women Fresh as an ‘Empowered Sponsor’.
The agricultural multinational organisation said it joined the international network in an effort to close the gender divide within the industry.
Increasing the participation of women in the produce sector is challenging. So, Dole aims to promote gender equality both within the company and across the industry.
Global Women Fresh (GWF) similarly works to promote equality through educational and professional opportunities for women in the industry.
It also inspires change through actionable data, thought leadership, and sharing stories of women working in produce.
Dole and GWF also both have a strong record in connecting female fresh produce professionals. The partnership indicates their intention to improve on this work.
‘Determined To Do More’
Danita Sanchez of Dole Europe B.V. is also a board member of GWF. She expressed her delight and the organisations’ collaboration.
Sanchez said, “I’ve seen Dole working actively to address gender gaps within the organisation – our Key Talent Programme being an important case in point.
“But I know too that across our business we are determined to do more.
