Kearney Brothers To Line Out For NDC At Ploughing Championships

Rugby players Rob and Dave Kearney will be on hand to launch the 50th anniversary celebrations for the National Dairy Council (NDC) at the National Ploughing Championships later this month.

The event, which will be held from 23-25 September in Ratheniska, Co. Laois, will see the 2014 Six Nations champions (and stars of the latest NDC advertising campaign) join in the action on the festival’s opening day. They will also judge the ‘Welly LineOut’ for visitors with “unique, colourful or characterful” wellies.

The sporting focus will continue with visits from GAA players on Day 3, who will examine the role that milk can play in sports nutrition.

Away from sport, broadcaster and designer Brendan Courtney will talk to Dr. Catherine Logan, NDC, about his top tips for nutrition and fitness on Day 2. On the same day, the NDC will also highlight its role in promoting the EU School Milk Scheme, as part of its celebration of World School Milk Day.

Throughout the festival, there will also be competitions, awards and daily cookery demonstrations to illustrate the versatility of Irish dairy products.
