With the school term beginning again soon, Keelings is looking to appeal to parents mindful of their children’s diets. The fresh produce company is promoting its Snack Pot range to help consumers reach their five-a-day goal for fresh fruit and vegetables.
Keelings Snack Pots are snack-sized fruit portions designed to be portable and convenient. The product range includes blueberries, baby strawberries, mixed berries, red and green grapes and most recently, Santini tomatoes.
Keelings nutritionist Aveen Bannon has spoken about the importance of healthy eating: “A common battle in many households surrounds the eating of fruits and vegetables. Some children can be extremely stubborn over what they will and will not eat and it can be frustrating for a parent.”
Aveen also provided a number of tips for parents looking to improve their children’s food habits, such as leading by example, eating and cooking together, and inventing games involving nutritious foodstuffs. She also recommended different ways of presenting fruit and vegetables to kids, such as: disguised in hot dishes; blended, and raw.
