The Arnault family and the LVMH Group, in solidarity with this national tragedy, have committed a total sum of €200 million to the fund dedicated to the reconstruction of Notre-Dame.
LVMH is 47%-owned by the Arnault family, which made the announcement this morning following the devastating fire at one of France’s most visited tourist attractions.
In a statement the LVMH Group, which owns Christian Dior and Moët, added that it's creative, architectural, and financial specialists are on hand to help with the reconstruction process.
The fire, which destroyed the roof of Notre-Dame, as well as its famous spire, began yesterday evening.
The church, which has stood tall since the 1200s, reportedly receives almost 13 million visitors each year.
According to reports, L'Oreal, the Bettencourt Meyers family and the Bettencourt Schueller Foundation have also recently announced that they will donate €200 million towards the cost of repairs of the cathedral.
