British bookmaker William Hill has named packaging firm DS Smith's chief financial officer Adrian Marsh as its finance head.
Marsh, a former Tesco executive, will join William Hill later this year, taking over from Ruth Prior whose departure was announced last month.
Marsh has been CFO at DS Smith for seven years, during which time the company transitioned from the FTSE 250 to the FTSE 100.
He was previously group director of tax, treasury and corporate finance at Tesco. Prior to this, he was European CFO at AstraZeneca plc and CFO, global building products at Pilkington plc.
He will be tasked with steering the company through regulatory hurdles in its home market as the government seeks to impose further restrictions on high-speed slot machines.
Commenting on his appointment, he said, "I am extremely excited to be joining William Hill at such a key time in the company's history, and look forward to supporting Ulrik Bengtsson (CEO) and the rest of the board in delivering their growth plans for the future".
