Aldi was one of the big winners scooping 15 prestigious titles at the Irish Free-From Food Awards, including five gold medals.
The discount retailer also won five Silver Medals, three Bronze Medals and two Merit Awards.
Gold medals came from its Great Food Sweet Potato Burger, Has No Gluten Free Sausages, Butchers Selection Irish Homestyle Beef Burgers, Angus Beef Burgers and its The Foodie Market Free From Multigrain Loaf ranges.
Aldi Group Buying Director, Finbar McCarthy said, “We are extremely proud to see our free-from products performing so well and being recognised for the excellent taste, quality and value they offer.
“We first introduced gluten-free bread to our stores in 2011 to cater for those following a gluten-free lifestyle. Since then, we have grown our free-from offering significantly, so that we can cater to everyone whether they need gluten-free sausages, meat-free burgers or sugar-free treats – all at a price that cannot be beaten.”
