Discount retailer Aldi has announced that it has agreed to a new deal to continue as the lead sponsor of The Aldi Irish Angus All Ireland Bull Calf Championships until 2022.
The German-based retailer will join ABP Ireland and the Irish Angus Cattle Society as sponsors for the event, representing an investment of €100,000 over the next four years.
Aldi has sponsored the Championships since 2012, overseeing a 40% increase in entries.

“We are delighted to extend our sponsorship of the Aldi Irish Angus All Ireland Bull Calf Championships for another four years,” Aldi’s group buying director, John Curtin.
“We have a longstanding commitment to supporting Ireland’s Angus cattle breeders and Irish beef. Our complete range of fresh beef is Bord Bia Assured, ensuring the finest quality Irish beef is made available to our customers across the country.”
Aldi has offered an extensive range of premium private-label Angus beef since 2008, and now accounts for 33% of Angus retail beef sales in Ireland.

The qualifying rounds for the 2019 Aldi Irish Angus All Ireland Bull Calf Championships will begin in April, with the finals taking place at The Iverk Show in Piltown Co. Kilkenny on Saturday, 24th August.
