Dunnes Stores was awarded the ‘Own Label Brand of the Year’ Award for its Simply Better Collection at the inaugural Food and Drink Business Awards 2018 in City West Hotel.
The award, Dunnes said, was in recognition of the commitment of the brand to deliver quality products to Irish homes from over 70 producers, 50 of which are from Ireland.
Established in 2013, there are now 350 products in the collection, with plans to introduce over 100 new and exciting products this year.
Simply Better
“We are delighted to be acknowledged as the best “Own Label Brand of the Year” in Ireland at these Awards. The Simply Better Collection is now recognised nationally and internationally as best in class, however, we couldn’t achieve this great success without the authentic collaborations and constant new product development with our amazing Food Producers,” said Diarmuid Murphy, Brand Manager Simply Better Collection.
“This high accolade from the Food and Drink Business Awards is a testimony to the great products we have created together and it is an award that belongs to every one of our 70 wonderful producers.”
One person believed to be pivotal to the success of the Simply Better collection is Brand Ambassador Nevin Maguire.
“I have been involved with the Simply Better brand for over two and a half years now and I see first-hand the time, care and passion by the Simply Better team that goes into selecting every one of the wonderful products in the collection. It’s been a privilege getting to know the amazing producers behind the products, who we call our ‘Food Heroes’ and I am so proud to be here tonight to celebrate with the Simply Better team,” Maguire said.
“It’s fantastic for Simply Better to be recognised in this way, but the best reward of all is that all of these producers have the opportunity to bring their products to so many more people, who can enjoy these amazing products whatever part of the country they live in.”
