Tesco Ireland is recalling all batches of its Roast Garlic & Herb Butters, 100g, as well as two varieties of its 10g flavoured butter discs, Roast Garlic & Herb and Chilli, following the detection of Listeria monocytogenes at their production factory.
While none of the products have been confirmed as being contaminated by Listeria, Tesco has recalled them as a precautionary measure.
The retailer has issued point of sale recall notices requesting customers who have bought the affected butters either return them to the store or dispose of them.
Other flavoured butter products are also subject to the Tesco recall, however, these have not yet been distributed to their Irish stores.
