Costcutter has announced a new corporate partnership with the Keith Duffy Foundation.
The convenience store group, operated by Mallow-based Barry Group, is the first corporate partner signed up by the childrens charity.
Costcutter will help the foundation to raise money to provide practical support to chosen children’s charities across the country.
“We want to go direct to the people in need, helping individuals, families and schools, in particular, so that funds raised make a real and immediate difference. Costcutter’s support in achieving this will be invaluable”, Keith Duffy said.
One of the first fundraisers under the Costcutter banner will be a 'Father & Son Run' in both Cork and Dublin this coming October.
A number of Costcutter owners and staff, will take part in the fundraising event.
To date, over €8 million was raised for Irish Autism Action during Keith Duffy’s time as the organisation’s patron, through a variety of events including The Keith Duffy Ball, Blue Nose Day, Keith Duffy 5k in the Phoenix Park, and the Connemarathon.
Jim Barry, managing director of Barry Group, said: “Having a child who is seriously ill or coping with disability is immensely challenging for families. Keith Duffy’s fundraising work improves these people’s lives, and we are delighted in Costcutter to get behind his good work.”
