Did you know ... Nutella producer Ferrero issued a statement saying that last week's chaotic scenes at French supermarkets, when the price of a jar of Nutella was cut from €4.50 to €1.40, were due to the French store Intermarché's own discounting strategy and not from its own promotions.

Did you know ... On the official opening day of Amazon's new automated grocery store Amazon Go in downtown Seattle, a reporter from CNBC accidentally shoplifted a yoghurt cup. Amazon's new stores are marketed to be automated so that customers can 'Just Walk Out' of the shop and pay automatically through an app without queuing at cash desks.
Did you know ... In a move reminiscent of the Netflix show Black Mirror, Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com has introduced autonomous delivery vehicles (pictured above) to the streets of Tianjin. JD.com plans to trial other futuristic logistics technology in the city, including robots and drones.
Did you know ... Edible drones filled with food, water and medicine are set to become a reality for humanitarian emergencies, according to Reuters. UK-based Windhorse Aerospace has designed the Pouncer drone which can stock 50kg of food inside its compartments and deliver enough supplies to feed up to 50 people a day. The prototype's frame is made of wood but the makers hope to use edible materials in the next version.
Did you know ... The French retail giant Carrefour said that it will become the first retailer to sell 100% organic French bread in its stores. This comes as part of the retailer's 'Carrefour 2022' transformation strategy, which aims to raise €5 billion from sales of organic products by 2022.
