In a further indication of Dunnes Stores intentions to launch an online grocery service, the retailer is seeking to appoint a Online Grocery Operations Manager.
A recruitment advert placed by the retailer says that the successful candidate will be responsible for training and assessment, ensuring stores are 'running efficiently' in order to to meet online orders, and will take action to address issues in underperforming stores.
"This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting and significant development for the company," the advert reads.
Since February 2015, Darragh Kelly, a former head of trading at A-Wear and former regional controller for Arcadia Group, has held the position of Head of Online at the retailer.
In May, the Irish Independent reported that Dunnes has applied for planning permission to make alterations to its flagship Cornelscourt outlet, in order to ensure the store is capable of fulfilling online orders.
The paper also reported that Dunnes was planning an autumn launch for the service, quoting industry sources that said such a launch date would be "challenging" for the retailer.
