Deliveroo’s Joe Groves said, “So many people forget to buy treats for the trick-or-treaters. Rather than scrambling to the supermarket, we want to offer the perfect solution. Deliveroo will bring the sweets to you so you can feed the creatures knocking at your door.”
Did you know … Constellation Brands, the US company that owns brands like Corona and a number of wines, has acquired a stake in a cannabis business? It announced this week it has signed an agreement to acquire a minority stake in Canadian company Canopy Growth Corporation, which provides medicinal cannabis products. It also stated that ‘this investment and relationship is consistent with Constellation Brands’ long-term strategy to identify, meet and stay ahead of evolving consumer trends and market dynamics, while maintaining focus on its core total beverage alcohol business. Constellation has no plans to sell any cannabis products in the U.S. or any other market unless or until it is legally permissible to do so at all government levels.’
Did you know … Ireland’s first cashier-less shop is set to open in Cork early next year? British company Everseen has developed the store on French Church Street and is currently testing a system that will allow customers walk into the shop, pick up any items they want and walk out the door with all items registered and paid for from their account without having to be scanned by a staff member or themselves.
Did you know … Irish companies are being urged to prevent employees from downloading software updates from their workstations to avoid Europe’s latest security threat? According to IrishExaminer.ie, The Bad Rabbit ransomware first appeared in Russia, but has spread to Turkey, Germany and the Ukraine. Users are accidently downloading Bad Rabbit when they run what they think is an update to the Adobe Flash Player.
Did you know … The European Dairy Association (EDA) is opposing a proposed traffic light food labelling scheme? It claims that the scheme does not adequately inform consumers about the nutritional properties of milk and dairy products. The proposal, put together by the Evolved Nutrition Labelling Initiative (ENL), seeks to create a single, consistent nutrition labelling scheme across Europe, helping consumers make healthier choices.
