Instacart has appointed Goldman Sachs Group Inc banker Nick Giovanni as its new chief financial officer, as the US grocery delivery app gears up for a potential initial public offering (IPO). Giovanni, who was at Goldman Sachs for more than 20 years and most recently was head of the investment bank's global technology, media and telecom group, will join Instacart on 27 January and succeed current CFO Sagar Sanghvi. "As we look ahead, Nick's finance experience, operational discipline, and deep understanding of complex marketplaces like ours will be instrumental to Instacart," Instacart founder and chief executive Apoorva Mehta said in a statement.
Did you know?... FrieslandCampina plans to make bottles from 100% recycled PET (rPET), beginning February 2021, for its brands sold in the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Hungary. This move will make the Dutch dairy cooperative the first within the sector to switch to a circular economy for bottles, the company added.
Did you know?... Unseasonably heavy rains mixed with sun last week in most of Ivory Coast's cocoa regions, improving prospects for the April-to-September mid-crop harvest, farmers said on Monday. Ivory Coast, the world’s top cocoa producer, is in its dry season, which runs until March. Farmers said they were pleased with the rainfall and the weakness of this year's Harmattan winds, which sweep in dust from the Sahara Desert.
