Did You Know … Franciscan Well and Aungier Danger have team up to bring beer themed donuts to pubs? The donuts include a raspberry donut mixed a malty Franciscan Well Rebel Red Ale and a smoky bacon and sweet blueberry donut combined with a fruity Chieftain IPA beer.
Did You Know … Aldi UK's own-label whiskies have been awarded six medals at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC)? The whiskies were found to be of both great quality and value. They even beat other brands costing over three times the price.
Did You Know … SuperValu announced a partnership with animal behaviour specialist and autism spokesperson, Dr Temple Grandin? Dr Grandin, is a Professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University and has published over 60 peer reviewed scientific papers, and is also noted for inventing the ‘hug box’, a device to calm those on the autism spectrum. She was even the subject of a semi-biographical film, and was portrayed on screen by Claire Danes.
Did You Know … A new Dublin coffee shop has opened in an old freight container? Container Coffee opened up on Thomas Street, Dublin, in a recycled shipping container. It comes equipped with fully retractable doors, wheelchair accessibility, and a spectacular view of St. Patricks Tower.
Did You Know … Brexit is having an adverse effect on pub culture according to the VFI? Its survey stated that 9 out of 10 Irish natives want to see our pub culture preserved while 97% of tourists intending to travel to Ireland plan on visiting a pub during their stay.
Did You Know … A boozy ice cream shop exists? You can find it at Tipsy Scoop, a new ice cream called Barlour in New York City. On the menu, you'll find ice cream inspired by some of your favourite cocktails, like a Strawberry Sangria Sorbet, Mango Margarita, Red Velvet Martini, or Tequila Mexican "Hot" Chocolate. All flavours are just below 5% ABV (think: a light beer).
