Did you know?... A German abattoir will continue work on Monday despite a coronavirus outbreak among its personnel, reports Reuters. The Vechta local government authority revealed that some 66 of the 1,200 workers at a chicken slaughterhouse in Lohne in North Germany owned by the Wiesenhof meat group tested positive for coronavirus during routine checks.

British households' view of their financial situation improved modestly in July to just above its long-run average, after hitting an eight-and-a-half year low in April due to the coronavirus, a survey showed on Monday. IHS Markit said its monthly Household Finance Index rose to 41.5 in July from 40.7 in June, though it is below its level in March, before the economy went into lockdown to slow the spread of Covid-19, which has killed over 45,000 people in Britain.

Domino's Pizza Inc has beaten Wall Street estimates for quarterly same-restaurant sales and profit, as diners ordered in more pies since dine-in options were limited due to lockdowns triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic. The health crisis has nearly decimated the food industry, as a rising number of cases and stay-at-home orders have forced restaurants to shut dine-in options and layoff thousands of employees in an effort to reduce costs.
