Did you know?... Sales of Budweiser in China overtook those in America in the first half of 2018, according to Beverage Daily, and the gap is expected to increase as China’s thirst for the beer grows. The US-brewed beer has seen its consumption steadily decline in its home country.

Did you know?... The Hershey Co’s finance chief Patricia Little is leaving the company in the midst of rising costs and changing consumer trends gravitating towards healthier snacks. Little is alleged to retire from her role in spring next year, four years after taking the helm. The group is currently looking for a successor.

Did you know?... Cobra Beer has launched a gluten-free beer that is set to be sold online through Ocado and in Asda stores in the UK. For the moment, the launch will last for a month but it is believed that the availability of the new beer will be extended. The Gluten-free beer has been approved by Coeliac UK and will initially focus on off-trade customers.

Did you know?... Scientists at Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University have discovered a plant-based food preservative which they claim is more effective than artificial preservatives. The organic preservative comprises a naturally occurring substance known as flavonoids, a group of phytonutrients found in almost all fruits and vegetables that have strong anti-microbial and anti-oxidant properties which help inhibit bacterial growth and keep food fresher for longer.

Did you know?... The Guinness Brewery in Dublin has been granted a special license granted by the National Parks and Wildlife Service to ban seagulls from the premises due to threats to human health and safety. While seagulls are technically classed as a protected species, the brewery has permission to remove the birds and their nests from St James’s Gate.

Did you know?... In the UK, a report from the UK’s House of Commons Science and Technology Committee was welcomed after it found that gaping products should not be treated in the same vein as cigarettes and tobacco, reporting that e-cigs are not a significant gateway for young non-smokers.

Did you know?... Kraft Heinz has collaborated with Oprah Winfrey to announce the expansion of O, That’s Good! with a new line of premium frozen pizzas, the third product launch from Mealtime Stories, the joint venture between the two parties. The JV released refrigerated products and side dishes, and the most recent pizza contains a classic crust made with cauliflower.
