Did you know … roaming charges in the EU fell this weekend, as the final step before they are completely abolished for Europeans next year? European users travelling on the continent will now pay no more than an extra €0.05 per minute for calls, €0.02 per text message, and €0.05 per megabyte of data. The European Union will scrap phone roaming charges outright on 15 June, 2017, RTE reports.
Did you know … Magners Irish Cider has announced a four-year extension of its partnership with Celtic Football Club? The news means that it will continue backing the Scottish Champions until the end of season 2019/20. The deal also means that the C&C cider brand’s name will continue to appear on the clubs training kit.
Did you know … a US jury has ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay $55 million (€47.59 million) to a woman who claimed that using the company’s talc-powder products led to her developing ovarian cancer? Independent.ie says that the company plans to appeal the verdict, saying that it contradicted 30 years of research supporting the safety of cosmetic talc.
Did you know … Documents have revealed that Irish recycling firm Panda Waste was the victim of a €350,000 fraud in a failed bid to export scrap copper from Saudi Arabia? The 2011 scam was instigated by a Saudi-based lawyer with links to Prince Turki Bin Nawaf Al Saud, a political attaché based at the Saudi Embassy in Dublin, reports Independent.ie
