Did You Know ... Topaz owners Alimentation Couche-Tard are to buy Texas-based CST Brands for roughly $3.67 billion? CST Brands operates 3,000 locations in North America. Alimentation Couche-Tard purchased Topaz last year for approximately €450 million.

Did You Know … The confectionery industry is open to the idea of a pan-EU 250 calorie cap per portion? Nestlé, mars, and Mondelez are willing to discuss the proposal, and Ferrero says it has already imposed a 130 kcal per portion cap on any new products.

Did You Know ... The first All-Ireland Butchery Expo is being held in Monaghan on the 28 and 29 September, 2016? Organised by Aughnacloy and supported by Dunbia, the expo will host over 500 butchers amid two days of competitions, features and over 35 industry-specific exhibitors.

Did You Know ... Whiskey Live Dublin will take place at The Printworks in Dublin Castle on Saturday 5th November? The festival celebrates Irish and international whiskeys. Whiskeys, whiskey cask-matured craft beers and whiskey cocktails can be tasted whilst meeting producers and distillers from the industry.
